Incredibly over £80,000 has been raised for CHUF for the new Sensory Room by Metro Radio’s charity Cash for Kids metroradio.co.uk. Graham Wylie quoted “Dan Smith at Metro Radio Cash for Kids has pulled together a brilliant project and achieving the target of 75k and more to build the Sensory Room for CHUF within three days is outstanding. It’s heart warming to see how the NE people, businesses and media have come together to highlight this project. Even cheeky duo Ant and Dec are behind it. The new sensory room includes a fibre optic carpet, mirror wall – even glow tubes with fish. It also takes the parents accommodation from good to excellent and has funded two vital pieces of equipment.
All the staff and parents that I talked to at the Children’s Heart Unit at The Freeman Hospital were delighted and very, very grateful”. We had wonderful news coverage on BBC Look North, ITV Tyne Tees, the Journal, Metro Radio and across the NE media.
Dan Smith, Metro Radio Cash for Kids quoted “my feet havn’t really touched the ground. We have reached our target thanks to the generosity of the NE people and businesses, especially Proctor & Gamble donating over 20k and Graham Wylie 38,500k. I want to also give a huge thank you to Gentoo. So many of our amazing listeners have stepped in it is hard to know where to start – thank you so much.
