Chuf’s vision is to support pioneering services that will positively impact heart families, inspire hope and enable Heart Heroes to reach their full potential. Chuf supports children and families who receive treatment at the Children’s Heart Unit based at the Freeman Hospital and the many other hospitals providing care for cardiac patients throughout the North of England. 

Chuf relies on the support of individuals, companies, trusts and organisations to continue to help people to achieve their dreams. Your support to our life changing work will help us to help more babies and children by providing lifesaving equipment, facilities, aftercare, and research.

The difference your fundraising can make… 

£50 – 5 Baggins Bears

Will fund 5 Baggins Bears. Baggins Bear is a much loved initiative funded by Chuf. Each bear costs £10 and is a vital tool for the team at the Heart Unit when supporting little ones through their surgery journey. Children who undergo heart surgery are given a Baggins Bear to celebrate their bravery and act as a momento of their journey.

£100 – Craft Materials

Will re-stock craft materials for 6 weeks. When children are living on the ward for long periods of time, the play staff work incredibly hard to help keep them entertained. Arts and crafts give children an escape, allowing them to express their creativity. 

£300 – Clown Doctor Programme

Will help Chuf to continue funding the Clown Doctor programme. This local arts company visit the ward twice a week to provide bedside entertainment, distraction and a welcome change to the routine of the ward. The children on the unit absolutely love the Clown Doctors and often they are instrumental in helping a child eat, move and continue to recover.
