Chuf is proud to be part of Celebrating Kaylee, an inspiring year-long campaign marking almost 40 years since Kaylee-Ann Davidson Olley made medical history.

In 1987, at just five months old, Kaylee became the first baby in the UK to receive a successful heart transplant at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital. Now, as she approaches this incredible milestone, Kaylee is turning her remarkable journey into a year of challenges, fundraising and raising awareness of the life-changing gift of organ donation.

Launched with gratitude to her donor and their family at its heart, the campaign will see Kaylee joined by family, friends, supporters and medical professionals as she takes on a series of challenges, including a zip-wire, a 40-mile walk and a 70-foot abseil.

Her goal is to raise £40,000 for Chuf, helping us continue to support children and young people with heart conditions, and their families.

Alongside fundraising, Celebrating Kaylee aims to raise awareness of organ donation and encourage people to record their decision and share it with their loved ones.

The campaign will run until 15 October 2027, culminating in a fundraising gala at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Durham, bringing together supporters and members of the medical and transplant communities to celebrate this extraordinary milestone.
