Children’s charity CHUF-ed to launch first ever ‘Hearts & Handbags’ fundraiser

CHUF held their debut afternoon tea event ‘Hearts & Handbags’ at The Hilton Hotel in Gateshead on the 14th of May 2017.
Guests were welcomed with a sparkling reception and had the opportunity to visit a range of retail stalls before indulging in a selection of mouth-watering sweet treats.
The afternoon saw a panel of parents and medical staff share their stories and experiences of the charity, before CHUF’s heart heroes and their families took to the catwalk to showcase some of the hottest summer trends. Guests then had the opportunity to bid on a selection of designer accessories in an exhilarating handbag auction.

The day saw a staggering £10,000 raised in support the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital as well as a number of other District General Hospitals in the North of England providing children’s cardiac care.
