North East Entrepreneurs Awards raises £8,000 for Chuf

The North East Entrepreneurial Awards ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate the region’s high achievers. In addition to celebrating the North East’s finest businesses, teams and leaders, the awards help to bring benefit to local charities.  This year Chuf (Children’s Heart Unit Fund) benefitted from the event, and saw generous Entrepreneurs and local companies digging deep to help Heart Heroes.

Held at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, hosted by Jo Darby and sponsored by Week2Week serviced apartments the evening was a glittering event showcasing the amazing work taking place in the region and beyond.

Daniel Wade of Wade Construction Management Consultants took home the emerging talent award, Dale Smith from The SDDE Smith Group was Scale-up Entrepreneur of the year,  iamproperty’s Ben Ridgeway and Jamie Cooke won Entrepreneurs of the Year whilst Alice Hall was presented with the Mentor of the Year award. A huge congratulations is owed to all of the shortlisted businesses and individuals, who are making waves in the corporate world and helping to highlight the talent here in the Northeast.

Chuf Chair of the Board, Ivan Hollingsworth was invited to speak about the transformational work of the charity, whilst Chuf’s Patron Sir Graham Wylie was honoured with the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award for his work co-founding Sage and Close House Golf Club as well as his contributions to charity work in the North East.

“By donating to a charity you hold the power to transform lives, uplift communities, and create a brighter future for those in need. This is why, each year during our awards evening we champion one local charity, a charity which is helping to support the people of our region during the most difficult times in their lives. This year we were thrilled to support Chuf and raise, we hope, a meaningful amount of money to support the charity’s vital work.” -Northeast Entrepreneurs Forum

The evening was a resounding success all round and raised an amazing £8,000 for Chuf. This saw a return to pre-pandemic levels of giving, Charlotte Campbell, Director of Operations and Fundraising at Chuf said:

“It was huge honour to attend the Northeast Entrepreneurial Awards as a guest, and to witness first-hand not only the wonderful people and companies making impressive moves in the region, but also the genuine warmth and support these businesses offer to each other. We can’t thank the Entrepreneurs’ Forum enough for choosing to support Chuf in our anniversary year, your support is so appreciated!”
