We are delighted to announce the teaser video covering Ivan’s final challenge has been released. Before watching it, however, it might be useful to remind yourself of just how monumental the challenge was.
Ivan Hollingsworth has devoted the past eight years to raising an enormous sum of money for the Children’s Heart Unit Fund. Ivan’s son, Sebastian, was diagnosed with Tetralogy of fallot at just a few hours old. He was 16 weeks when he underwent life-saving heart surgery at the unit, which served as motivation for Ivan to begin his fundraising.
Since that decision, Ivan has raised a total of over half a million pounds through a series of endurance challenges. His last one, however, was the biggest of all and saw Ivan head from London back to the Freeman Hospital where his son’s ordeal began. Riding 268 miles by cycle and then running 52 miles on foot, Ivan faced driving headwind and battled exhaustion on his way to completing the challenge.
In total, the effort took over 32 hours. It was a gruelling, emotional challenge that tested the very limits of Ivan’s physical and mental endurance. The whole thing has been captured on film and will be available to view in full soon. Until then, please watch the teaser video and get an idea of the sheer magnitude of this incredible feat.
